Car PC JoyCon Exr
Pausing at BIOS screen of Intel D525MW
When CarPC JoyCon Exr is connected to D525MW(intel mini ITX mainboard) with USB hub, BIOS screen is paused about 5 second in booting. It happens when CarPC JoyCon Exr is connected with USB hub.
There is three solution for this trouble.
1. Connect CarPC JoyCon Exr without USB hub(or USB repeater)
This is the best solution. The USB cable can be extended as long as 5m without hub. (USB repeater is 1 port USB hub. So USB repeater and USB hub has the same trouble.)
Connect CarPC JoyCon Exr to the USB port on the mainboard directly.
2. Disable Boot Device
You can disable CarPC JoyCon Exr as Boot Device. “Boot Device” means that the device can be use in the BIOS screen or multi OS selection screen before the OS is launched.
After you disable CarPC JoyCon Exr as Boot Device, you can not use CarPC JoyCon Exr in the BIOS Screen or muti OS selection screen. But if you don’t use multi OS, there will be no problem.
You can disable CarPC JoyCon Exr as Boot Device by checking off the “Enable Boot Device” option in the MISC tab of JoyCon Explorer. After the “Enable Boot Device” option is changed, reboot or USB reconnection is required.
*CarPC JoyCon Exr firmware is required later than CPJexr_111031 version to use this option. You can update the firmware at FW tab by internet.
*JoyCon Explorer is required later than 111031 version to use this option. You can download the latest JoyCon Explorer at www.exinterface.com.
3. Use USB 1.0 hub
If CarPC JoyCon Exr is connected with USB 1.0 hub, there is no boot trouble. There is no pausing in BIOS screen, you can also use CarPC JoyCon Exr in BIOS screen and multi OS selection screen.
But it will be hard to purchase old USB 1.0 hub.
USB 2.0 hub with no boot trouble with D525MW is not known yet.
